Frequently questions on elearning from students in e-learning tutorials

In e-learning, there are a number of factors that determine the success or failure of your online course. Thanks to the new e-learning formats, the tutor becomes the central axis on which all the teaching is based. Therefore, they are burdened with many responsibilities that they must shoulder in order to maintain the quality of their product. Read on and find out how to succeed in your e-learning tutorials!

What E-learning questions can you face as a tutor?

The online tutor is responsible for guiding, orienting and supporting the student during the learning process in the online environment. Among their functions we can highlight: providing information about the contents of the course, explaining and emphasising them, giving e-learning questions and answers, supervising the students’ progress, promoting participation… There are many and all of them are very important, although there is one that is often overlooked: tutoring in e-Learning.

It is normal to provide time for e-learning questions and answers at the end of the course. However, it is important to encourage participation after each section of the content is completed. And of course, in encouraging this, the tutor must be prepared to answer questions that arise about your online course.

Among e-learning questions you may find:

The student doesn’t understand anything

Just like that. Usually, this is not due to inadequate content or an unintuitive online platform, but to a personal problem of the student feeling overwhelmed, confused or lacking time. To solve this problem, try to understand what is going on and give them advice on what they need.

The forum is a vacuum

Although live tutorials are the best option to provide e-learning questions and answers, you have to make it clear that the forum or chat is an existing tool. Engage in interesting discussions there! But avoid any disrespect.

The answer is in the content

It is often the case that one or more students raise a question whose solution can be found in the syllabus. This is usually the case when tutorials are held for each section of the content. If this is the case, you only have to indicate where to find the resource.

The student wants the contents to be transferred to a document format

Sometimes, students are not used to learning via webinars, videos or audios and want to have the materials in a format that can be manipulated. One tip is to prepare a PowerPoint presentation to serve as a guide and summary including e-learning questions and answers.

Students who are not very participative

Your online course cannot be a monologue, as your students will only get bored. Ask your audience what their opinion is on certain topics or create a debate with controversial suggestions.

You are askeds questions on e-learning that you don’t know how to answer.

Obviously, you don’t have to know everything, but mastering the subject you are teaching should be your main prerequisite. If your student has questions to asks about e-learning that you don’t know, tell him/her that you don’t have knowledge about it, but that you will be able to answer it in the next session.

As you have seen, we have mentioned the most frequently asked e-learning questions and answers. However, I am sure there are many more questions about that you would like to address as effectively as possible. Remember that the important thing is to give your students a voice without forgetting your role as an expert
