Powerpoint to create elearning presentations

Power Point is a very easy to use tool that most of us are very familiar with it. If this is your case and you need to create e-Learning presentations, you are in luck. Now you will be able to use it to help you in your educational processes and achieve professional results. Below, we are going to tell you what are the steps you will have to follow in order to achieve it.

Steps to make an presentation online with Power Point

The idea is that you create a video in which you are explaining the content you want to teach to your students. For this you don’t need a specialised video programme, Power Point will be enough to achieve it. It is as simple as this:

  • Choose a theme so that all the slides follow the same style.
  • Edit them with text and images.
  • Finally, save it and create the video with Camtasia.

After following these steps it will be important to take into account a series of points that will be essential to achieve suitable elearning presentations that facilitates the understanding of the student.

1. Better simplicity than saturation to create online presentations

It is better to use small, clear and concise text. It should be easy to understand. Do not overuse unnecessary embellishments that can distract and detract from what is really important. It can even cause the text not to be understood. If you want to include photos, gifs or graphics, make sure that they provide relevant information in your content and that they are not an unnecessary distraction.

It is also important to keep simplicity in mind in the text as it needs to be a summary of the entirety of what you want to explain. If you include something that is schematic, that is to say, it is better to include a small amount of plain text than to include a lot of text that does not allow you to understand what you want to say.

2. Use the same theme

When choosing which theme to use in your videos, try to ensure that it is respected in the different slides and in successive videos that are related. We would recommend that you go for an already created theme, or if you are feeling creative, go for your own ideas and implement them.

If it is the same course with different videos, try to keep the same style to maintain a certain structure and allow the students to arrange the videos according to the subject.

3. Record according to what you have written

When introducing the voice in your videos it is important that you follow the order you have established in your slides. Also, to avoid awkward silences and moments when you don’t know what to add, try to stick to what you have written. This will help you to avoid any hesitation in telling the story and having to repeat it several times. Save time and take advantage of what you have already worked on, so make sure that what you have written can follow a proper narrative by writing what you want to include that is not included in the slides elsewhere. In this way you won’t get lost and you will be able to keep track of time.

Follow these tips and get multimedia contents that will help you in your e-Learning courses and will make studying easier for your students.
